Hi, I made 5 min video with lost of effects (like inverting, dissolving, flashes etc) and want to move it to davinci resolve for grading - but davinici doesn't see many of those effects. What is the easiest way to do it without loosing the effects? thank you for your help!

how are you trying to get it into resolve ? EDL, XML ??

Resolve doesn't like that cause it doesn't like the effects ( not to mention other stuff like titles, etc. )

Best bet is to export your video (media) EXACTLY the same as your timeline ( hopefully that looks good when you play in VLC or something ). Then put THAT into resolve. The effects titles and everything else is then baked into the entire export.

This might make you wonder, " Well, if that's the case, and I want to grade using Resolve, would it makes sense to grade BEFORE I edit ?"

Unfortunately, that is a very good solution if it suits the reality.

Hi, thank you very much for your help.

I was first trying with xml, but obviously it didn't work.

Seems like really one and BEST option is to export everything as in timeline and then cut it in resolve manually.  I was just hoping that maybe there is some other option, which would make things easier both for me and the colorist

thanks anyway!
