Moving Premiere Production to another computer

New Here ,
Jan 08, 2025 Jan 08, 2025

Hi everyone...

I have a PC. There I have my project in a Premiere Production that I'm using for almost a year to editing.
Now, I have to move this project to another computer: MacBookPro - Apple M1 Pro Sequoia 15.2

I locate the project in my folder at PC and copy to the same HD where are all medias. When I try to open the project icon (name.prproj) Premiere doesn't recognize it. How is the best way to move one Premiere Production Project to another machine?

On PC I was working on Premiere 2022 and on MAC is 2025.

You should use project  manager to duplicated the project and media into a folder. Then transfer the folder that project manager created to the new computer.

Could you clarify what you mean by "doesn't recognize it"? For example:

  • Does the project fail to open?
  • Are the media files missing or not linking correctly?
  • Is the project not associating with its Production?

If you're moving a Production to another computer, this guide by Jarle Leirpoll is an excellent resource. It includes a detailed section on how to relocate Productions.
