Multicam Clips Are Black in Multicam View (Won't allow me to edit)

I've created a few multicam clips and dropped the first one into my sequence but when I toggle multicamera view it does not show the 2 camera angles (left of the composite image). It simply puts a black box beside it where the clips should be. The multicam clip can be viewed from a source monitor and switched camera to camera using the 1&2 keys, but it doesn't work when I'm actually trying to edit!

I am a premiere noob. I had the wrong video track selected...
