Muxing issue after Premiere Pro 25.3 Mac update

Exports are lagging for MANY minutes at 100% no matter how long the project or whether it even has audio at all. Latest project now over an hour at 100% of export.
Rendering sections inside a sequence for preview has no problem. 

Was not a problem before the latest PP update. Exporting would not hang at 100% like it does now. 

Exporting usually h.264 in 1080p 30fps

Mac mini m1, 8gb ram

One 256gb internal drive where application resides and two 500 gb external drives for holding files.
Internal drive has 46 gb free,

external drive 1 with user folders has 218 gb free

external drive 2 for project files has 400 gb free

Activity Monitor during muxing:

CPU is loafing at 29-30%

memory pressure is yellow using 7 of 8 gb physical, around 2gb of swap

Hi @pet_sable1172 - can you login to your internal hard drive user and let us know if you are still having issues?  Since your user account is on an external hard drive and premiere is on your internal hard drive there could be some conflicts happening.

The export is going to the external drive. That's what I was doing before the problem started. 
The user folder is where all the usual user specific files are stored - documents, downloads, movies, music, etc. I put up a couple of screen shots to show where the Adobe apps and user files are. 
The volume titled "Files and Storage" is where I keep projects and assets. 
The volume "New Main Users" is where the user folder actually is. I misspoke on the original post. I have three external drives. All external drives have lots of free space. 
I don't have any third party plug ins on this Mac.

Do you have any third party plugins or panels installed?

are you exporting to your internal hard drive or external?

Can you provide more information on your setup. You say user folders on your external drive is that your preferences?
