Hey friends,
I have run into a strange issue in premiere pro. I imported my 4k footage and when I play it back within premiere, I get a flickering neon rainbow horizontal line in the top left corner. I thought maybe it was just the playback, so i exported a test clip and it shows up in the exported file as well.
However, the flickering green line is not in the original footage. I shot with two different cameras and both show the flickering green line within premiere and nothing in the original clips. Can you please help me figure out what's going on? I appreciate the help!
OS/GPU/GPU driver ... all useful here.
Plus ... what are you using for Mercury acceleration in the project settings panel, and what happens if you set Mercury Acceleration to Software Only?

OS: Mac OS Catalina 10.15.2
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB
Project Settings: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal) - Recommended
Q: What happens if you set Mercury Acceleration to Software Only?
A: That solved my problem! Thank you for the suggestion.
1. Any idea why this is happening with the recommended settings?
2. What am I losing by changing the settings?

The driver version is crucial here. I know that at times with laptops one is supposed to install drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website.
I went to the Nvidia website and searched, and there are drivers with numbers above 415 available for that GPU ... I think if you can update to one of those, you can still use that GPU. So check on your system, to see what driver version is being used for that GPU at the current time, update it if it is older, especially below 400.
