New to premiere pro captions

Hi, would like to know how to fix the settings for captioning.

I have sentences being  shown for like 20 secs until they speak again.

is there a setting to fix this?

Check these settings. Maybe you have the minimum duration set too high so the captions stay on screen well after the speaker has finished.
