On Mac Laptop, I used to be able to scrub the timeline with two finger scroll... what changed?!!!

So I've been using premiere pro for years... just finished a movie in June using it... (yeah that movie).

I always loved how fast I could work on my latop late at night or while in reviews.

Well, I just opened up Premiere to get started on a new project... and one of my oldest behaviors seemingly changed during an update... unless I'm an idiot and it's on my side.

I used to be able to two-finger scroll on the trackpad and scrub through the timeline. Now it freaking zooms in on the monitor panel.... which is just dumb. Why in the world would I want to zoom in on the player?

Can anyone confirm this setting changed and it's not just some hidden option I can't find? I find this so destructive to me workflow. If it is indeed a change, please, please, please change it back Adove. K-thnx-bye.

Hey Wes, congrats on the film! I saw it twice at the cinema (the second time I took my son).

The functionality you're describing still exists in the latest version of Premiere, but only when you scrub over the time ruler. Here's another post that explains it further: Scroll Wheel No Longer Scrolls Through Timeline

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for the kind words!

And thanks for the point in the right direction.....

So... how do I start a petition to change this feature back to the way it was? Ha ha. It is so incredibly inefficant the way it functions now. Even in the post you linked, i was surprised more people don't seem to recognize how much this little change affects producitivy... at least for me. I used to be able to fly through footage. It probably takes me twice the time now. I hope Adobe somehow reads this. It's making me pull my hair out. How bout give us the option to change the default behavior? Scrub or Zoom.

I can't be alone. Anyone?

I wonder if anyone knows the version this behavior changed? Maybe i can revert back to the old version.

There are quite a few users who want the option to revert back to the old setting. You can add your voice and upvote here: Option to Revert the Mouse Scroll Change.

The version before this new behavior seems to be 24.3, which you can easily revert to using the Creative Cloud app.

Paul
