Only audio, no video, when exporting

I just started using Premiere Pro for simple editing for work - adding a clip of footage at the end of a longer recorded clip. Yesterday I was able to export my first video, no problem. Today, I imported a new video, and a new end clip, and for the past four hours  have exported the video numerous times only to end up with just audio and no video footage.

Things I have tried:

- importing the required footage again

- starting a new project

- saving the project with "save as" and changing the name

- rebooting my computer

- saving to different folders

- importing the audio only footage I end up with, and I received a "generic error" message and the footage could not be imported.

What else can I do? I have not changed any settings from yesterday's video export.  The video footage shows on the editing page and in the export settings pop up, and I have exported every video in the H.264 format.

How about posting a screen-grab of the Export dialog box settings in your reply so we can see if there's something not checked or checked that shouldn't be? Otherwise, we're just flipping coins. LIke this ...

Here you go. I hadn't changed any settings from my first successful export, but maybe you'll see something
I don't.

Question: From the path it looks like you are trying to export a training session.  By any chance is this an MP4 from webex?  I am running into the same issue when trying to export post-production video recorded from the new webex MP4 format.  I think it could be something in the way webex is encoding the video.

Same problem: Audio only and no video when I export a Cisco Webex video with Adobe Premiere, using Mp4 file...

Does anyone found the solution?

I'm digging but still have no solution!

Thanks  🙂

I was thinking the same as Neil.
Checking to make sure you haven't at some point unchecked the Export Video option under Export Settings would be my first suggestion.

I have the same problem, for some reason, it won't export the video. You have to check the box that says match sequence settings then the video comes. Otherwise it looks something like this:

If anyone knows how I can do it without checking the my sequence box, please let me know

I had the same problem (August 2020) and stumbled on this solution:

Click Export / Media (as usual)

Whne the Export settings box opens, check the box at the top that says Match Sequence Settings.

For some reason this allowed me to check the box that said Export Video (which was not active before).

I was then able to name the file with a .mov extension and export as usual. I hope this works for others as well!

In case anyone still needs it...

I was having the same issue and basically it was sequence settings. Created a new sequence, copied and pasted and when it asks- KEEP SEQUENCE SETTINGS. Voila! Hope it helps

I solved my same issue with Premiere Pro CS4. What I did was just placed the output into a different folder. I believe the issue is a conflict of exporting the same video with file name into the same folder I was doing all my exports into the same project folder. Some reason it will error and won't let me export it out. So I was just exporting uncompressed avi but no video just the audio. So after racking my head and internet for solutions, I figured why not just give it a whirl and just start on trying to see if they video would work on after effects anyway. Well, BINGO, it worked for me to view and edit in after effects. Maybe you can't view video on window media player but it will work in after effects. Hope this makes sense and could save some people time and frustrations. I'm running Windows 10 pro.

I'm having this exact issue. Tried things above too.

Trying to export .mov file using QuickTime format

no video, just audio (there is no audio to begin with though so it's just mute file)
