Panels freezing in Premiere Pro CC 2018

I've posted about this before but didn't receive a solution and the problem persists. Basically, every now and then the panels of my Premiere freeze. The best example I can give of this is in this image:

This is what happens after I open the project file again. If I press play, the footage does play and I can see it and my timeline, but it always takes pressing play to see any changes I make after this bug occurs. So, if I were to cut a piece of footage in the timeline with the slice tool, I will only see the slice line once I press play again, like so:

As you can imagine, this really slows down editing to the point of frustration and makes meeting deadlines so much more difficult.

On this occasion, I noted that the bug occurred when I imported a particular piece of audio. I was working around it for a while by simply undoing in the import or restarting from a previous save point. But I know it's not a file issue, this has occurred on a number of different projects, all after importing something (either audio, or a jpg, whatever).

Any help at all in helping me rectify this would be appreciated. FYI, this bug started occurring in PP 12.1 and persists even after the 12.1.1 update.

Hi Peter,

We are sorry for this annoying issue.

Have you checked if you have the latest video drivers installed, as suggested by Jim_Simon.

If you already have the latest drivers, reset the workspace or reset the Premiere Pro's Preferences.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

That looks like a redraw error.  Check your GPU driver.  Might need to update.

Hi Kulpreet,

Thanks very much for your advice. It does appear that resetting the workspace has done the trick, and I have also updated my drivers (though I have certainly updated my drivers several times since the first time this has happened). If the problem does occur again, then I shall reset Premiere Pro's Preferences as you also suggested.

Many thanks for your solution.
