Pasting text into sequence with different aspect ratio affects text size

Hi,

I had to convert a sequence to a different pixel aspect ratio (the first was set incorrectly). When I did so, the text looked fine. However, when I copy and paste the text into a new sequence with the same (updated) pixel aspect ratio, it shrinks the text.

This seems to be only true for the current titler (Essential Graphics titler). The legacy titler pastes the text correctly into the new sequence.

Any ideas or advice on how to avoid reformatting all our text in the new sequence?

Thanks!

-Jim

I honestly go with your solution of using Legacy Title when I have to paste text because of the kind of problems you are mentioning.

Good to know (although frustrating)!

try this if you're on the mac, if I'm remembering correctly, it should solve the problem.  Open Text Edit which comes with the mac and paste your text.  Select it and go to format:  make plain text.  and then copy and paste into premiere.  Should remove any formatting that's sticking to the text.  I'm sure there's a way to do the same thing on the pc.

Thanks for this advice. It worked. I had to create a new title and paste it in, but it created the correct formatting. It's a little tedious having to go through the entire show an manually replace each text item, but at least it will recreate some of the formatting.
