Pen tool menu not showing

I am trying to access the rectangle tool on Premier pro, and I left-click on the pen tool to access the rectangle tool, but nothing happens. I tried clicking on the triangle too, but nothing appears. Same with all the other tool menus. Is there a way to fix this or another way to make a rectangle besides the pen tool?

This may seem like a simple question but did you actually click and hold mouse button down? Give it a second or two

That worked! Thank you so much -- I'm new to Premier and thought I needed

to use the right click.

If you click-and-hold on one of the tools and then there's no drop-down (I'm assuming you have a little triangle in the bottom-right corner of the tool?), then I would suggest trying to reset premiere preferences.

Hi, I've done the left click & hold, right click and hold, and reset all Premiere preferences.  Still nothing happening when I try to use the pen tool menu.  I'm pretty new at this, what might I be missing?  Thank you!

That's odd. Can you see a little black triangle in the corner on the Pen tool?

In  Premiere Pro Version 23.6 the Elipse and Rectangle tools are no longer under the Pen Tool, which is why there is no little triangle.  Near the Pen tool is another tool which defaults to Rectangle, but can also be Elipse or Polygon.
