Playhead issue (new user issue)

Hi there,

I'm working through the tutorials, trying to learn Premiere Pro. Whenever I drag the playhead in this view (I don't know what anything is called yet), the window just immediately changes to the program monitor panel. I can drag the playhead from within there, but that doesn't show me where I am in relation to my sequence. Images attached for demonstration.

I can overcome the issue by closing the program monitor panel, but it re-opens as soon as I preview the sequence.

This can't be right - can someone help me out? Thanks so much.

This doesn't happen if the program monitor panel is open in its own window, btw. Bug or feature? I'm not experienced enough to know the difference...

I have no issue what your issue is. I dont see anything out of the ordinary.

If you want to see the entire sequence hit \ (backslash).

Try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.
