Poor performance, process not closing and video not shown

Hi there
I am using a new windows 10 high-end computer, but Premiere works very badly 😞
Here my configuration:
- i7 Extreme with 20 HT cores
- 128 GB Memory
- NVMe SSD with read up to 3500 MB/s
- NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti
- Premiere CC newest version (update today)
Here are the issues:
- After importing avi or mp4 movies, no video is shown. Audio works.
- Import of 350MB mp4 takes 5 seconds or more which is for that kind of computer very bad
- When closing Premiere, the process keeps running forever.
- When working in Premiere, it uses almost no resources.
Means that this kind of software, in my opinion, it should use more than one processor
How can I get professional help for that ?
It looks like this is the only adobe support 😞
Thanks and best regards
Frank

AVI and MP4 are wrappers, what is inside YOUR wrapper - Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?
Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message

First thing I suggest is step 2b. Report back.

Be very careful about downloading MediaInfo, I just hurriedly updated mine an got a whole bunch of garbage. Make sure you read all available fine print.
How many processes do you have running when you look at Task Manager?

Your problem is that you have way to many processes running, I have never seen 250 running on any of my computers! I just ran an export of my PPBM MPEG2-DVD timeline with CPU only an I have 72 processes.
Tune that sucker and get rid of all those excess processes that are stealing CPU cycles and memory.

Hi Bill
Thanks for your answer, but this is not helpful 😞
I am software developer and there are some processes
running, thats why I have such a computer.
But even when I close all applications and having less processes, it makes no difference for Premiere, it still does show the video. Only Audio is playing.
And by the way, if you look at the TaskManager,
there are plenty of cores and memory available.
Does anybody here have some useful help ?
Best regards
Frank
