When we're producing stereoscopic 360 video productions using Premiere's VR workflow, we often have the need to also export 2D footage for team reference materials, trailers and even alternative final deliverables ("flatties"). Rather than re-capturing/re-rendering our source footage, or using another tool to do conversion, would it be possible to use Premiere's VR workflow to 'flatten' 360 source footage into 2D exports, perhaps with the option of keyframe animating FOV and look direction in a sequence?

I had the same question. Ultimately I found this free plugin from Gopro. Simply install the plugin and then apply the effect it to your VR footage in the effects panel you can keyframe the parameters you asked for. It was a quick and easy fix for me I don't know how it will handle stereoscopic footage though.
