I can do almost everything, scrub, browse, change settings etc but the second i try to play the timeline (with the space bar or button or anything) it does nothing, and the play button does not respond, i then lose the ability to scrub or import, but it hasnt really frozen the program...
Then when i go to close the program it freezes and I have to terminate application, EVERY damn time

It is latest version, it has been happening over several versions, on different computers...
All I can imagine it being is footage not completely loaded and it breaks the application?

I run a video editing business, so this is very frustrating! Any help would be highly appreciated

Hi deanh,

Sorry for your issue.

I understand that you are getting playback issues in Adobe Premiere Pro. Please share the following information so that we can understand the issue better:

  • Which Operating System are you using?
  • Please share the system specifications (RAM, GPU, Processor)
  • Does it happen with a new project as well?
  • Are you using third-party plugins?

Additionally, please try these steps:

  1. Clean media cache: FAQ: How to clean (delete or trash) media cache files?
  2. Adjust audio hardware preferences: Configure preference settings in Premiere Pro

(Set the Default Input value to No Input)

Let us know if it helps.

Thanks,

Shivangi

Thank you for providing all the information.

Additionally, please try these steps:

Clean media cache: FAQ: How to clean (delete or trash) media cache files?

Adjust audio hardware preferences: Configure preference settings in Premiere Pro

(Set the Default Input value to No Input)

If Premiere is acting weird trash preferences.

FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.

Did you try the steps mentioned above by me and Ann?

Thanks,

Shivangi
