it has been months and this issue is still a MAJOR problem with no answers from adobe can anyone help??
Updated premiere to version 23.2.0 (build 69) and now when I try to render my computer just shuts off. I know most people are quick to blame the hardware but my system is build for editing and the thermal read outs are well within operating range, drivers are up to date, and i have 2 identical machines in my studio. The computer running the older version works just fine as im currently rendering a large project on it. My question is has anyone else run into this problem with the new version of premiere? I'm using the same footage from the same source on both computers so it's not a corrupt file and the fact that the computer shuts off immediately after I click render makes me think this is software based. Computer specs below for reference.
computer that crashes: Running Premiere 23.2.0 (build 69)
AMD Ryzen 9 12 core 3.80GHZ
16 GB DDR RAM
2x Nividia GeForce RTX 2080ti
AMD X570 Chipset
SSD drive
Liquid Cooled
Computer that dosent crash: Running Premiere 23.1.0 (build 86)
AMD Ryzen 9 12 core 3.80GHZ
16 GB DDR RAM
2x Nividia GeForce RTX 2080ti
AMD X570 Chipset
SSD drive
Liquid Cooled
Hello,
Premiere shouldn't be able to turn off your computer. Most likely Premiere is exposing a driver/hardware problem.
I'd reccomend looking through the Windows event log to identify the reason the machine rebooted:

If the event is a generic system lost power event, it means the motherboard powered off the machine. You can consult your specific motherboard documentation to understand whether it provides any logging

I know that Premiere shouldn't be able to shut off my computer but it does and only when rendering. not After Effects or Audition just premier. I check windows log event after every crash but it shows no errors and I had the manufacturers of the machine run a ram check and every other things they could think of but still the problem presists. I even swapped out power supplies thinking it might be power issues but it still shuts down.

Some other suggestions to try
I'd also still recommend consulting your motherboard documentation to check whether it can provide any insight as to why the system powered off. Often times, there will be an error log/code available in the bios that points to the reason for a power event.

I am having pretty much the same problem with my mac. it works for awhile then all of a sudden it will shut down my entire computer. I just bought this computer. It is the only program that causes this. Please provide a solution.

@ericw21451473 Which model of Mac and what OS are you running?
Is it possible your machine is overheating?
You might be able to get additional information about the system reboot from the Mac OS Console app. Look for system crash logs or through the current system boot log to get more info about why the previous shutdown occurred.

Hi Guys,
Almost a year later and it seems we're running into the same issue here for my business.
We bought a brand new machine and whenever we attempt to render/export from Premiere Pro, the system shuts down. Capcut doesn't do this. Ran a test with Adobe Media Encoder and nothing happened as well.
The performance of the machine is immaculate save for this error. Could you please assist @Kyle Plumadore ?

@Viegestos3549858162b9 Can you share the system specs?
If you're on a Windows machine, I would recommend checking the Windows Event Viewer (Windows Logs -> System) to identify whether there are any corresponding system events at the time of shutdown.
If there are no events at the time of shutdown and there is only an event ID 41 at the time of the subsequent system boot, this points to a hardware error - usually insufficient power supply, but can also be caused by e.g. overclocking CPU/GPU/memory, or even a bad harddrive. See this link for more information:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/performance/event-id-41-restart
If there are events at the time of shutdown, those events should describe the reason for the PC shutdown (e.g. BSOD with associated BSOD code)
Also if you bought the PC fully built, I would recommend contacting the vendor - they should have steps to triage the issue.
