Premiere 2017 crashes on opening an existing .prproj file created with Premiere 2016.
I have uninstalled all Adobe apps twice, rebooted Windows 10 and reinstalled premiere from scratch.
Hi Kulpreet,
I have reinstalled Premiere Pro CC 2015 and everything is working again. I will wait until CC 2017 is more stable.

Jonathan

Hi Jonathanharrison,
Are you able to create a new project in CC2017?
Try importing your existing project using the File menu.
Thanks,
Kulpreet Singh

What's the point in PM? A friend of mine and I both have this problem, and probably many others, the forum is for all of us to use it.

Hi Kulpreet,
I am not sure if you got my reply so here it is again, with the link I forgot to the screen shot:
The article you indicated seems to no longer exist. However, I found instructions to clean the media cache and did that.
I copied your file Michal Weinstein AA.prproj into the existing project directory alongside the original project file. When I opened it:
1. I got a message "\\?\C:\Users\Jonathan\Documents\1. Filming\Films\Michal Weinstein\Michal 16-09-29\Michal Weinstein AA.prproj Video Filter missing: AE.ADBE Aud Stereo Mixer
2. The project contains a new bin named "Solids". It is not clear what these items are: Cross Dissolve, Title to full video (there are two of these). All three open the color picker.
3. There is no sound. Many clips are missing in the timeline with no indication of their names so that I cannot re-link. Here is a link to a screen shot Adobe Creative Cloud
Can you help?
Jonathan

Hi Kulpreet,
Premiere Pro is also crashing on a new project when I try to create and edit a title.
If this product is not yet stable, how do I downgrade to Premiere Pro 2016 for now?

I am having this exact same problem. I click on Adobe Premiere, select new and get a crash. Try to open an existing and crash. Why does Adobe release a product to the public that doesn't work?

Turns out to be a lack of security validation for access to the dvamediabrowser.dll; as a work around, run premiere with the "run as admin" right and that should do the trick . Works fine for me now, good luck .. Adobe, please fix .

Hello Jonathan, all,
Same problem here. I resolved by opening with New Project. Then under Video Rendering and Playback I chose Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. After that this was the default and existing projects could open.
