My MBP 16" M1 Max with 64GB RAM (OS 13.0.1) was super fast running Premiere until I "upgraded" to Premiere 2022 (22.6.3) and 2023 (23.1). Now it takes almost a minute to just SAVE a project! I have auto-save and all project files on a fast RAID, so it's not iCloud. It lags constantly while scrubbing through 1920x1080 ProRes files, H264, you name it. The spining ball of death appears when doing simple tasks. I feel like I'm working on an old computer with slow drives in 2015. Acutally I think Premiere ran way better on my old Mac in 2015. And, everyone I know is having the same problems or worse.

Premiere 2021 ran great, but I trusted Adobe and now I have lots of new projects in 2022/2023, so I'm stuck. It's so frustrating and insane!

Hi, I know that some users reported fixing timeline stuttering issues related to the Audio Input that one should set to none, or change to a correct setting in Premiere Pro>Preferences>Audio Hardware

I have had the same problem since I upgraded to the last version of 2022 and 2023, it's a nightmare to work with premiere, my MBP gets very hot, and it shoots down every time. Yesterday I decided to start a project in Davinci resolve, which is for free and runs much better than Premierw with 4k raw material. If adobe does not solve these issues I think that really to pay for this software.

Editing on an M1 Max 14" 64gb

Minimal issues over the last couple of months -nothing really motivating enough to force me into wasting time scrubbing the internet to try to solve the issue.. BUT suddenly...

Yesterday, EVERYTHING stopped functioning. Is extremely laggy and every single attempt (of the 30+) has resulted in the spinny wheel running long enough that a "force quit" is necessary.

I cannot color grade

I cannot add effects.

I cannot scrub the timeline.

I cannot do ANYTHING with PP right now and my frustration is a level 1000000.

Anyone have any idea what's wrong? I've spent an annoying amount of time trying to solve this -without any luck.

I just downloaded Resolve. Don't really have the time to learn a new platform, but I definitely don't have time to wait for the next update.

... forgot to add.

I was able to get to the export screen this morning for a 90 second clip.

It's still rendering with 9 hours and 52 minutes remaining.
