Hello,
I tried finding solutions for days but I could not figure out, maybe someone can help me. I both upgraded Adobe Premiere CC to latest version as well as upgraded my hardware from a MSI GS60 to a MSI WS60 (Tech Specs see below).
Problem:
I am editing every day and zoom in and out of my timeline thousand times. I use the ALT key and my mousewheel to quickly zoom in and out where my playhead is located.
Now the zoom seems completely random... It does not zoom in on my playhead anymore. If I use the + and - key on the keyboard it does it correctly but the mouse wheel doesnt work, it just takes me somewhere random depending on how long my sequence is.
Another Problem after the upgrade is that the timeline keeps lagging, when I move a track it is not as smooth as before. Shortening or extending clips feels like I am on a slow system but it should be the opposite.
I tried:
- Reinstalling my graphic drivers
- Reinstalling Adobe Premiere CC
- Activating and Deactivating CUDA/Software render
Tech Specs:
MSI WS60 6QJ-258US
NVIDIA Quadro M2000M w/ 4GB GDDR5
Intel Xeon E3-1505M Quad Core Processor, 2.8 GHz
CRUCIAL 32GB Dual Channel DDR4/2400MHz ECC
256GB "Super RAID 4" Dual SSD (for software and cache)
2 TB Samsung SSD EVO
Windows 10 Pro
I would be very grateful for any help! Working on several projects right now and it is very frustrating.

I have the same problem, since the 2017.0.1 update, I can't zoom into the playhead, which is incredibly frustrating.

The mouse zoom is centered on the mouse cursor. Place that near the playhead if that's what you need.

I just noticed that.
I also noticed that the sequence scrolls to wherever the cursor is, which could be useful, but I'd like to be able to turn it off. When I move from Premiere to the taskbar to go to another app, I briefly see the timeline flying off to the right!

On it's own? That's...unusual.

Yep, on its own. If you have tabs to the left or right of the sequence, every time you move your mouse cursor to them the timeline goes scrolling off on its own!

That one I've never seen. I don't believe it's normal.
Turn off auto-scroling under Preferences>General. Same behavior?

this doesnt work for me... it seems to zoom in in the center of the whole sequence.
Before pressing ALT and scrolling the mouse wheel would have the same effect as pressing the MINUS or PLUS keys.
