Premiere auto-deleting footage and audio from timeline

I click enter to play from the beginning of my timeline to watch back what I've spent the last day working on and half the footage and audio have been deleted from the timeline. How do I get my work  back without having to re-edit everything

Premiere does not auto delete footage from your sequence. Footage can get overwritten with accidental use of the Overwrite function. Your best bet is to check your autosaves for an older version before the overwrites occured.
