Premiere no longer reads RED footage

Community Beginner ,

I mainly editing on my station at work, but today I'm working from home.  I also worked from home 2 weeks ago editing RED footage in Premiere.  Then I had no issues and was able to get a lot of work done.

Today, I just needed to make some minor tweaks, but my entire day has been trying to figure out why Premiere will no longer read the footage.  I don't believe I've updated anything within the last two weeks and I'm using footage shot on the same camera, the RED Weapon 6K.

I've deleted the cache multiple times (manually and automatically), I've disconnected the footage and reconnected.  I've tried updating my graphics card driver.  I've unchecked the "Enable hardware accelerated decoding" preference.

The footage seems to be ok in After Effects.

The results I'm getting are 2 fold.  From the project that already had the footage imported I'm getting intense picture glitching that flickers constantly.  However, if I disconnect and reconnect or open a new project and import fresh I get an import error.  Additionally, I'll occasionally get an error stating "An unspecified error occurred while performing a conform action to the following file: [address to a media cache file]"

I'm running

Premiere 12.1 Kentos

Windows 10 64-bit

Intel core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.5 GHz

24 GB RAM

Geforce GTX 980M

I have a feeling someone is going to say I need a new graphics card.  If you do, can you explain why it worked just fine 2 weeks go...

I also read a similar thread where someone suggested the footage became corrupt - which could be the case, but yesterday on a different (older) system it was 100% fine.

Thanks in advance

Hi larryc53227652,

Sorry for the trouble. Thanks for the detailed post. Is there an inbuilt Intel GPU in the machine? Please check in the device manager.

If yes, try installing the driver recommended in this thread and see if it works: Green and Pink Video in Premiere Pro 12.0.1 (Build 69)

Thanks,

Vidya
