Premiere Pro 2020 BUG. It cannot edit After effects editable text

Hello,

I have a Premiere Project with an After Effects comp in it. When I change the text in the "after effects editable text" window, the text disappears on both areas: in program monitor and in the texts boxes where I edit it.

It is like Premiere can not save in memory the new input text I write on the "after effects editable text" boxes.

I have the last updates (PP version 14.0.1 (Build 17) and AE version 17.0.2 (Build 26))

Is this a known issue?

Thank you

PS: I tried to restart apps, restart pc, create a new clean and simple project of PP and AE, etc...

At Adobe they gave finally answer from Help desk. I had to go back to premiere 14.0 and after effect 17.0. My projects opened in these older updates and I could change my texts as normal. Jippie finally.

I'm having this exact same problem! Does the AE file need somthing inside it? Or is it just a bug that Adobe needs to fix?

Hello Carlos,

I am not using a typekit font. Actually, my tests are with simple Arial Regular in a clean project. I have already try to switch renderers but problem persists (clean cache, etc...).

Meanwhile I am working transforming the AE comps I need into Templates. As soon as I can I will uninstall and reinstall PP and AE. Thank you for your answer!

Same here. And after that, if you go back to fill again the "after effects editable text" boxes, these are empty.

Since yesterday the same problem. After effect text is not editable anymore. The typed text dissapears as soon as I change it and also on screen. Please help I need to finish my project for the customer. The text animations you duplicate can not be edited.

Having the same issue since the latest update. It's frustrating how Adobe manages to break things that were working fine with every new update, even with minor updates.

I really dont know why adobe does not respond. This is terrible to have no connection between Premiere and After Effects anymore. I hoped they solved this over the weekend but NO nothing has changed.

This is something that is affecting a relatively small subset of users ... but given how MANY Premiere users there are, still a fair number of individuals. And could easily be several different things with the same apparent result.

There is one thing that is causing issues with a LOT of PC users of Premiere ... the anti-malware system app in Win10. So ... if you are a Windows user, and can't use dynamic link processes properly to either AfterEffects or Audition, go to your system anti-malware applet, and add the Adobe programs to the "safe" programs list so they can communicate.

This has immediately fixed several dynamic link issues for quite a few people.
