For the past few weeks Premiere Pro does not get past the startup screen on my Mac. I'm using the latest version of Premiere Pro and Mac OS 10.15.7 (Catalina). The error box pops up while it's "Loading OCFX plugin" (that's what the splash loading image says) and the error box itself says "Error report for 'Adobe Premiere Pro 2021'" . . . . "Sorry, an error orccured" and then has generic report / submission instructions. The "view report" link doesn't work, of course. And all submissions to have Adobe contact me have been fruitless. This is quite frustrating. My other apps from the Adobe Creative Cloud work just fine. Other tutorials on how to fix this have not worked. Any help is appreciated.
I didn't realize I was behind on my Mac OS updates. I just updated and now it opens correctly. I feel kinda silly because I was sure I had the latest and greatest. Oh well. Thank you to those that replied.

Hi justinline,
Sorry to hear about this. Navigate to /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore & temporarily move all the plugins from the MediaCore folder to a folder on the desktop and then check if the app is launching properly.
Thanks,
Sumeet

@justinline when you say Mac OS updates, do you mean the latest Catalina update or did you go up to Big Sur/Monterey? I'm having this same issue and Adobe support can only tell me to wait for an update as this is evidently a massive problem for many. I really don't want to go to Big Sur if I don't have to.

I figured this out. First step is always removing plug-ins. In my case however, I didn't have a plug-in folder as I haven't used any in years. I searched for "MediaCore" and found some old folders as far back as CS 5.5 that had stuff I downloaded many many years ago. I trashed them all and Premiere 2022 opens. Adobe Help should have customers search for "MediaCore" if there are no current Plug-in folders under Go > Library > etc.

Also want to know this, did you have to update the Mac OS for "GoPro FX Reframe" to work?
I am currently on Catalina 10.15.7 and Premiere Pro 2021 (15.4.1), and after downloading the "GoPro FX Reframe" plug-in (OCFX.plugin) that I need to edit 360 video, Premiere simply crasher on launch.
Anyonoe have a solution to this?

I'ts funny I just found this. I was just in the process of downloading the GoPro reframe FX plug in and my PP would not open. It keeps crashing during the load up screen. I recently updated my computer to Monterey and since then, the blacks and shadows in my footage get super dark and grainy during import(looks perfect in quicktime and on my camera). I currently reinstalled Catalina because Monterey and Later versions of Big Sur are having issues with HEVC footage from the GoPro. They never fix this issue, it's super annoying. However, now the appliation won't even open, probably due to the GoPro reframe plug in. I'd reinstall the FX reframe but I need it for my project in order to edit my footage. This is insane.
