Premiere Pro 2024 - Publishing to a Physical DVD

New Here ,
Nov 30, 2023 Nov 30, 2023

Hi Community,
I work for a company that is phasing out a program that we use to create Photo Presentations on, and normally then publish those and recordings direct to physical DVD Discs from it.
I've just had a quick look at Premiere Pro, as we already have Adobe software for our image editing and recording edits, but seem unable to publish directly to a physical disc.
I tried the following:
File > Export > Media > MPEG2-DVD & changing Multiplexing to the DVD setting
**as shown in some google basics.
This hasn't worked however, it just created a file on my deskop.
Is there a setting i've missed for Premiere Pro to publish directly to the DVD disc itself?
We work on Window 10 Machines, and projects are done in HD 720 if that helps.
Thanks for your time,
Simone

You cannot burn straight to disk dvd. You never could (except CS2). Not only that, but you need Adobe Encore, but that is no longer available (unless you own CS6).

However you can use the file and burn to disk with a menu:

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 - The Ultimate DVD / Blu-ray / AVCHD Authoring Tool - Pegasys Inc.

No re-encoding.

If you do not want an authored disk but just the file you can use e.g. CDBurnXP.

Hello Anne, long time not been in the forum!
I have CS4 suite, that includes encore; Would I be able to  use it with PP 2024 to achieve DVD burning?

You export from Premiere with the bluray h264 preset. Import into tmpg and go from there

https://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw7.html

There is no Blu-ray DVD. It's either a Blu-ray disc or a DVD disk.

The former contains HD footage, the latter SD footage.

I'm surprised to receive this and why I asked this question in April 2024!

I have not done this for a long time but I seem to remember, whilst in PPro I went to Encore to author my project and got an AVI file that I burned on a dvd

I was using CS4 Adobe Suite that did come with Encore.

Actually I may have another go at it as I have had a recent holiday with quite a few clips. But these days most people seem to keep them in their storages... There is so much going on people don't have time to watch old stuff anymore!

I bought some Blue Ray disks but my system was too weak to handle large HD files I ended up giving up! My 'new' system as 16 gb ram, with 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700F 2.10 GHz; but this may be too small again ?
