Fresh install of Premiere Pro 22.3 today and when I lauch the Premiere Pro it comes up with the error "Directory object cannot construct with this path."
Im on Big Sur 11.6.5, File & Folder permissions all checked, tried with full disk access as well with the same errror on launch.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same error.
No idea what directory its trying to create.
Ok, so I hate having to answer myself since I seemed to have figured out the solution. It has absolutely nothing to do with the iZotope plugins, it just happened to be the last thing on the splash to load.
I was sucessfully able to get 22.3 to launch using the following:
I unintalled 22.3 (full removal since it never fully installed), reinstalled from CC.
When it initially started to launch 22.3, I went to inspect the premiere settings folder permissions in /Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/22.0
...I had the same issue.
I followed MWongSounds advice and checked the read/write status of the settings folder to no avail. What I did notice however is I was trying to run version 23 and the folder was for version 22. I made a copy of the folder and renamed it "23.0" and booted up Premiere again... Success!

Hi Kevin,
Can you give me instructions on what to change for Windows 10? I don't see any of the suggested changes when I try to fix this problem. Thank you.

Hi Michael,
Sorry. Is the splash screen hanging on any specific plug-ins?
Thanks,
Kevin

Tried it all, still having this with version 22.5. It suddenly happened one day when I opened the program.

Hi Jari,
Sorry about that. You'll have to remove the component in question: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/a-low-level-exception-occured-in-dxv3mediaco...
Let us know if this fixed your problem.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Jari,
Well, that's frustrating! Do you have any integration with One Drive, DropBox, or iCloud? This error can happen if you allow these services to sync your Documents folder. If this is the case, remove the documents folder from the service. You can also create a new user account without the services engaged. Let me know if this approach works for you. It works for me fine.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the solution. Started a new account on my Macbook and the program works! So that's a temporary solution haha, it seems that Dropbox is messing up my macbook. I guess it has to do with cloning my former Macbook (see screenshot). Gonna figure this out, since this is not an Adobe issue anymore.
Thanks!
Grtz.

Shame on you Adobe!
Such a bug.
I cannot fix it by any means. The only what helps is running the program as the administrator.

I'm a Windows user. this same issue or error interrupted me. I fixed it by going to windows security-Virus & Threat protection in this section I disabled Controlled folder access and it worked for me. try to find this alternative on MAC.

I had the same problem.
The default path for Premiere Pro is "/User/ Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/<version>", however, this had not been created by Creative clouds/Premiere Pro itself when it was installed.
So, I manually created the directory and fired up the application and everything worked fine after that.
Just fyi - I'm running OSX Monterey + Izotope Plugins

I'm receiving this error, too. I work with Adobe products daily for work and they've been extremely unreliable as of late, this is extremely frustrating. I used Premiere Pro maybe 4 times already today (opened, worked, and quit) and now the error. I tried doing all of the suggestions in this thread- Changing permissions, changing folders, uninstalling/reinstalling and the only thing that semi works is creating a new user on my mac, but then I lose access to all of the files and presets I was using earlier today. Can someone please help?
