I have been working on a large project- a film around two hours- over the past few months and just recently realized I am having audio issues with older timelines in the project. The audio on the timeline was spliced and edited properly but just recently when I went to play the sequence back the source of the audio was not the same as the original. The audio does not match the original file name that is still on the track with the edits. Revealing it in the project shows the original file's name but plays the wrong audio in source/preview panel as well. When revealed in explorer VLC plays the correct source for the file's name. The issue is inconsistent throughout the project and I can not pinpoint the problem here but I hope there is a simpler solution than re-linking the audio for every cut on a two hour timeline. Sending my files offline and re-linking has not helped and neither has clearing my cashe. The audio I am working with is .wav, record externally with a Tascam device. I am working in Premiere Pro 2017.0.2. Has anyone solved a similar issue?

Try step 2h, and if that doesn't work, try 2i.

Sounds like cache to me. Audio conform files are seperate from video I think. Stick the media cache folders into an 'old' folder & Pp will rebuild. Might take a while though...
