Having looked at all the posts and following advice it's still happening. I've uninstalled and re-installed Premiere, I've signed out of Creative Cloud and back in, I've uninstalled and re-installed Creative Cloud.
I don't know if this is helpful but I notice that the spalsh screen comes up quite quickly before the crash compared to when it was behaving normally. If I click on the program icon I just get the "Premiere has had to Close Error 205" window. If I click on a Premiere File it does open, looks for the files, but just gives me the open to save before closing.
Any other suggestions would be welcome.

I finally sorted the problem. It was due to a corrupted audio plug-in. The problem was sorted by resetting the keychain to default values. Thanks for everyone's advice.
