There is a serious 10-15 second lag when hitting the insert/overwrite edit keyboard shortcut or even the button in the source monitor.
Here's the interesting thing though - simply dragging from the source monitor player to the timeline works instantly - no lag. But using the mouse slows me down like crazy! Massive respect to Adobe, love Premiere, but the lag on the insert edit is killing me slowly.
Just started happening after updating to Premiere Pro CC 12.0 (2018)
Thanks.

Without the details from every person having this problem, it becomes very difficult to try and track down a cause.

Extra info: The nMP is 32GB RAM & 8 core, using FS7 25fps 4K .mxf footage in 4K 25fps timelines and 1080P 25fps timeline (issue is
non-dependant of sequence setting re. max bit depth/codec etc.
Issue: Drag to timeline from source monitor = instant - whereas using keyboard shortcut for insert or overlay edit has lag.
