A couple weeks ago, Adobe Premiere CS6 stopped starting up properly. It would either throw a runtime error, just quietly close itself without throwing any errors, or just lock up in the middle of startup and force me to close it manually. After a little, two-week adventure where I uninstalled Premiere, then discovered that I'd have to contact tech support to get a reinstall, I'm back where I started. I've tried several fresh installs of Premiere and they all have the same problem as before. All other Adobe products work perfectly fine.
I've noticed that it tends to crash or hang when it tries to load "importerquicktime.prm," which seems to be a file that causes other people trouble as well, but none of the proposed solutions I've found in other threads addressing these problems have helped, and I've tried enough that I can't keep track of them all.
Here are a couple errors I sometimes get it to throw:

But recently, it hasn't been throwing errors at all, just hanging or quietly closing itself. I'm in a desperate situation here; I've already had to email a client and explain that she should look for another freelancer, and that isn't the sort of thing I can afford to do. Please give me a hand if you have any ideas.
I've attached my computer specs as a txt and an image of the runtime error message that I get with the first error I transcribed above.

cs6 PPRO and photoshop and audition work OK on my win 10 machine. speedgrade and AE don't work even as 'run as administrator'. Everybody probably experiences different things due to large disparity of hardware platforms.
When win 10 automatically updates your software ( you can't stop it from happening in general ) then your system has changed. That's probably what happened for you.
Try to run as administator and if that works go through all your settings ( ram usage, card drivers, permisisons to drives, etc. )
yikes.

Gave it a shot, but no dice, I'm afraid. Thanks, and I hope you get speedgrade and AE up and running soon!

I'm 69 and retired grip from nyc movies etc. was always into computers ( compuserve before internet was invented ( BBS stuff ). I built a custom win 10 computer about 6 years ago ( last one of my life ), which is the really big tower kind... bigger than desktop... heavy and big. I nicknamed it the pig on honor of the Empress of Blanding's Castle.
Once stuff was installed and updated I pulled the LAN cable out... that's it... just unplugged it. No more updates, and no more surprises. I use a laptop for internet and yappin with people like here and email etc.
I only use photoshop, audition. Sometimes I use CS6 PPro for illustrative purposes... to help people here.
Otherwise I use resolve 15 on edit computer ( with eizo primary and video SDI as reference ) and I'm done with it. No problems for me cause I'm simple minded and don't do fancy barn doors and wipes and animated flying text and all that fancy stuff.
I don't suggest you do the same, but I can tell you from more than 30 years on sets that NEVER HAVE I SEEN A PC ON SET EVER !!!! So, take that with a grain of salt.

it's really expensive. To do that on set.
You can get away with other stuff ( pro sumer stuff ) now... which is great. So keep working and making stuff.
