Premiere Pro icon stopped hopping

New Here ,

Hello,

I've been using Premiere Pro for two years and never had any complaints. I like having a cute little icon with letters on it hopping up and down on my screen for 10 minutes. It brightens up my day and I don't think 50 euros per month is too much to pay for such excitement. Recently, some strange thing happened with my Premiere. The hopping suddenly stopped only after 5 minutes and some window I've never seen before has appeared on the screen, asking me if I wanted to start a new project. What does this mean?

I quit the Premiere (well, I actually had to force quit and restart my computer) and after I oepened it again, it worked fine again - hopping for 10 minutes, then stopping. But I'm wondering what was that new window about? Is this some new feature? Did I do something wrong?

Trash prefs, clear plugin cache, delete media cache

  1. Launch Pr from a shortcut (Dock, Launchpad, Desktop) while holding down the Shift+Opt keys.  Opt resets prefs and Shift clears plugin cache.
  2. Keep the keys pressed until the main program window appears.
  3. Before trying to open any project or starting a new one, go to Preferences>Media Cache and delete *all* your media cache files.
  4. Now try opening a project or starting a new one.

But you should force quit Pr first. You'll get to see some pretty red letters next to the Pr icon. You've probably seen them before but this is to let you know that when you do see them, it's okay to force quit. 😀
