Hows it going. Ive been working on a video for awhile and am super frustrated.
My previous session which I havent edited in a couple months, seems to think that all my files are missing in the session, when they havent moved location at all. Theyre on the same external hard drive.
Its been a lot of lost time and Im tired of doing duplicate work. Why does this happen ?

If Windows, you must assign a fixed drive letter to the external drive, or Windows will assign a drive letter each time the drive is connected. it can also happen on some drives if they go to sleep. A different drive letter will cause the media to go offline. If that happens, you can right click on one of the media files in the Media Panel and choose relink.

Mac or PC?
In a PC, we assign drive letters to external drives, if you don't, it will change as it sees fit.

Im also dealing wth 2023 version of Premier and 2024
I know that when it gets to the update, if i try to open an earlier version of the session, into 2024. It wont let you revert back. I had to go with the newer version after my older computer died. So while in 2024, I was working on this session, and it seemed fine. No messages like that. Attached is the image of the message.
Mind you, I created a 2024 version, but for some reason when i click to open it in that version, everythings not there

Try removing all the special characters used in your folder names, project name, and filenames.
Then open the project file and relink the clips.
So, instead of the following:
• /Volumes/LaCie/!!! Video /!!! Legacy 7 _ video/!!! Legacy 7 - (2024) version
• Legacy 7 - (2024)_1
Use the following:
• /Volumes/LaCie/Video/Legacy7_video/Legacy7-2024_version
• Legacy7-2024_1
