Hi guys,

I'm in the middle of a project with a particular font 'Brandon Grotesque Thin' used thoughtout.

This font is activated in my Adobe Fonts and any Graphic Effect throughout my project (ie. Titles, etc) it is still avaible but when double clicking on my captions (open-captions) it's not there as an option for font. How can it be activated in the text/graphic areas but not in caption fonts? I cannot find it anywhere in the list and restarting PP has been useless. Still this font is missing!

Help?

Hey, thanks for your response.

Please see screenshots attacahed. The font is 'Brandon Grotesque Thin'. You can see that it's activated and available within 'Source Text' but not avaible in 'Captions'.

As I said, I'm mid-way through this project and up until I did the most recent update of Premiere Pro it has always been avaible as a caption font.

Cheers,

Maddie

I don't understand how this is handled. I think there have been some fonts that are never available in captions.

I do get yours, but it does not look right in the captions.

When I activated it from Adobe fonts, it was immediately available in graphics text. I was using an Open Caption stream. It was not in the captions list of fonts. I closed the project and reopened; not available. I closed Premiere Pro and reopened; it was available.

I activated on the "thin" style. It shows in the list (graphics and captions) without the "thin" explicitly. In graphics text, it has "thin" in a drop down, as the only option. In captions, it has the "thin" greyed out to the right, but a) it is not selectlable and b) the font looks "fat," not at all like the graphics text.

Note that in this other thread on (I think) a non-Adobe font, it was not available until I restarted my PC.

Hi Stan,

Thanks so much for oyur reply. I totally understand what you're talking about here becuase I went through this exact problem myself needing the 'thin' version in captions. I eventually had to deactivate the regular for the thin to automatically be the only option in captions.

However; this new problem has arose. After updating the most recent version of Premiere Pro (in hindsite I probably shouldn't have done this mid-project ) however, as I said, it has now gone missing from even being an option.

I thought after deactivating and activating again, restarting it would have shown up howveer still missing.

Please see screenshots in reply above to BrandedChannels as to that I have it avaible in source text but not in caption fonts. So strange. I cannot move forward with this project without having that font avaible for captioning and subtitles.

The previous version you were working in was 14.0.0 and updated to 14.0.1? Or what specific versions?

I'm at a loss.

Correct.

That is the only change that has happened since not being able to access the font in captions (note* it's not just Brandon Grotesque, it's all other font's I have activated since owning PP).

I'm at a loss also. Thanks anyway.
