Hi,
every video file that i import is stuttering while playback. its ok when you export it but its impossible to work. I have found a workaround for this but its not ideal. Go to the audio hardware settings and then i change device input to none and then it works fine. so its a solution so i can work in premiere 2022 but its not a proper solution to the problem. i work with h264 files so nothing special.

Why is setting the default audio input to none a problem? Most users I know using that setting can still work normally, so I'm just curious.

It's not a problem. Problem is why is every time that adobe updates their software i and many other people have problems that needs figuring out. I have never updated premiere in last few years and just continue working normally. There is always something that need figuring out whtas wrong and why is this not working anymore etc. Thats the problem

I work in both Premiere Pro and Resolve daily. And as they are both incredibly complex apps trying to do all workflows on all machines and operating systems and with all media ... they both have this issue, of new release problems. The 17.4 Resolve release had similar problems.
Now, you don't get that with Baselight, that's for sure!
But then, to use that app, you have three choices: the $10G computer, the $15g computer, and the BIG computer, all running Linux, bought from them, and loaded only with Baselight. It's called a "turn-key system". And after you buy the spendy Baselight-only Linux box, you also pay like $1700/year license cost.
One heckuva grading app though ...

I just get dissapointed in Adobe more and more with every update. I have the same issue and i'm losing so much time on resolving it and then transcoding bevause thats happened to every project that i have. Surely you tested the update after you made it and if so many people have that problme i cannot believe that it hasn't happened when you tested it. You should just stick to photoshop leave it to other comapnies to do other software.

The fact that I have to go to reddit to get help on fixing video preview for adobe premiere 2025 ... to play a video without stuttering backwards, and it has to do with turning off audio input setting. (edit > preferences > audio hardware and set the input to none.) HOLY COW THEY HAVE HAD THIS BUG FOR 4 YEARS AND NEVER FIXED IT BUT ARE TRIED TO STEAL EVERYONES CREATIVE WORK TO TRAIN THEIR AI MODEL. FAIL.

Setting the default audio input to None has been a major recommendation for the last decade among users, and is heavily and repeatedly mentioned on this forum as a first thing to check with many playback irregularities.
But it is not useful for all users, of course. So like with so many other things, this is something each user needs to sort out for their workflow on their hardware. Always has been.
