project crashes - serious error

here's a new one.

this is the notification I get before premiere crashes with serious error

any thoughts?

This morning I had the first serious error crash (no details) in a very long time with the same version (12.1.1) of Premiere on Mac running Sierra (10.12.6) as you have. I had just opened the program and with the Captions panel open just hit the plus sign to create a new caption/subtitle. Immediate serious error crash.

Note: I'm also posting this on a thread I created about Captions last week, since it's related.
