Projects not compatible with older version

New Here ,

Hey Guys!

I have a problem with editing projects in two versions of Premiere Pro - my older computer - 23.6.9 (I cannot upgrade, because I dont have AVX2) and the new one - the latest update. It used to be easy to downgrade projects with online apps, but now its stopped working. Downgraded projects cannot be open in the older PP. Is there any solution for this problem?

What exactly do you mean by downgraded projects?

Have these project files been edited in say notepad?

From what I understand, you've created a Premiere project file with one version of Premiere Pro and want to open it on an older computer with an earlier version of the sofware. Generally project files are not backwards compatible. There is a discussion thread on downgrading a Premiere Pro project file in the link below. Hope it is helps you:

I haven't used tools like that. You could give the prproj.com a try with a test file.

My reccomendation is - have a backup of your project files in a different location just in case anything goes wrong.

So generally the only option is to reinstal older version on the newer computer?

If you're using Premiere for a single project across 2 computers, it is best to have the same version on each.

The tool you have found may work in downgrading the project file. You can test and see how it goes. I would not rely on this as an ongoing solution. If you use functionality in the newer version of Premiere Pro, even if the tool works to downgrade the project, there may be elements missing or you may have other issues.
Wish you all the ebst with your project.
