PrPRO CC 2020 Projects Taking 10+ Minutes to Open/Launch

New Here ,
Feb 05, 2020 Feb 05, 2020

Hello PrPRO Colleagues,

Two different PrPRO CC 2020 projects are taking 5-10+ minutes to launch the project file. It's happening on two different iMacs I use. Same portable drive (5TB USBC Lacie drive) is shared between the two iMacs. Both iMac are running High Sierra 10.13.6.

I tried several remedies I found online. Dumped the media cache, reset prefs, I checked the permissions, etc. Nothing worked so far. I am using proxy files and this proxy folder is on the portable hard drive.

iMac info is below:

iMac #1 is a 2019 iMac Pro (3.0GHz 10-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz 128GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC memory Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GB of HBM2 memory)

iMac #2 - Late 2014 Retina 5K 27 inch.

Both are having the same lag issue in opening the same PrPRO two projects. At some point I moved the Media Cache folder to the hard drive. But since deleted that and pointed the media cache to a local drive (not the portable drive).

Any ideas what is causing this issue? All and any advice will be VERY MUCH appreciated.

Thanks in advance as I await your comments.

UPDATE: I tried importing 4 OF 14 of the sequences into a new PrPRO project and the same project opening lag issue is happening with this new project. The bar gets about 3/4 to end and holds, no spinning ball however. It eventually opens and I can edit. A mystery.

Thanks in advance for the communities help. Standing by.
