PrPro Project not in Creative Cloud anymore

New Here ,

I have recently experienced a crash of adobe. After this, one of my PrPro projects was not to be found in PrPro anymore. When I checked in Creative Cloud, the Creative Cloud's storage was only 500kb, meaning that it did not include said project. I never saved the project in form of "save as", but it was always saved via autosave and was always accessible after restarting PrPro. What can I do?

A friend of mine had a backup copy of the project, so I was able to retrieve it. Thank you for your support, however!!

Did you search your computer for autosaves?

Autosave will sometimes not start saving until after a manual save has been done.

Hello,

As per your description, it seems your Adobe Premiere Pro project file may have been moved or misplaced rather than deleted. This aligns with the information I received from Adobe support in the past, indicating that it's impossible for the files to get deleted but they can potentially get moved. Here's what you can do to locate your missing project:

  • Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac): Navigate to your main hard drive by opening File Explorer on Windows or Finder on Mac.
  • Search for .prproj files: In the search bar, type ".prproj" (without quotes) and hit Enter to search your entire computer for Adobe Premiere Pro project files.
  • Review search results: The search results will display all .prproj files found on your computer, including copies and autosaves.
  • Check different locations: Since your project was not found in the usual location, it's possible it was saved elsewhere. Look through the search results carefully, checking each file's location. You might find multiple copies of your missing project in different directories.
  • Restore the project: Once you've located your missing project file, you can simply double-click on it to open it in Adobe Premiere Pro. If you find multiple copies, choose the one that corresponds to the most recent version of your project.

By searching your entire computer for .prproj files, you should be able to locate your missing project and restore it to Adobe Premiere Pro. Remember to save a backup copy of your project in a secure location to prevent similar issues in the future.
