I made a sequence full of videos. I edited them into position where I wanted them. Then I made a new sequence to add a few basic effects. When I watched a video of the process the old sequence was transferred into the new sequence with a single track. When I transfer an old sequence to a new one I transfer all the videos/images in the old sequence. So why make a new sequence if all you're doing is bringing everything over? Isn't a new sequence suppose to make things less cluttered?

I do have the selection tool active. I'm still getting everything from the old sequence going into the new. I have found a way though. I right click on the sequence I want to move and select "make sequence from clip" and I get 1 track instead of all of them.

When you drag the old sequence into the new timeline, make sure this button is toggled on (blue):

This is another way to do it:
Create a new sequence, drag the old sequence from the project panel to the timeline.

For some reason when I did it the way you showed in the video I still got all the clips instead of just one track. It's been a while and my memory isn't the best so I could have missed something. Anyway I got it to work. Thank you.

Meg wasn't referring to the Selection tool (the arrow icon).
He was referring the the left-icon on the Timeline header block ... "Insert as nest" or whatever it's called. What Jarle Leirpoll calls the "Nest or not" icon. It's a sequence icon with a line across it.
