Hi,
I can't seem to find anything on this because every single time I search, the solution is to use multicam mode.
This is not a case of the same take and 2 cameras-it's the same camera and 2 takes.
I'd like to be able to flip between them quickly when I want to compare the actor's performance and use the best one.
THEN after that, i'll be using the multicam
Is there a way to quickly flip between 2 takes?
Dave
Place take 1 on video track 1 and audio track 1.
Place take 2 on video track 2 and audio track 2.
You can toggle which clip you are viewing hearing by right-clicking on the clips and toggling Enable.

I use the track eyeball for this type of thing.

not sure what that is. I'll look around.
Just using "enable" isn't really very quick. I was just hoping for some sort of dual window-like multicam, where I could set the two up next to each other, determine a start point for each and flip between the 2

In the track header there's a little eyeball icon which turns track visibility on and off. Watch one take on track 2, then turn 2 off and watch track 1.
If you want to see both at the same time, you'll need to set up a PiP.

If you use track visibility, you'll still have both audios playing - unless you also mute the linked audio track as well.
The Enable command makes the video invisible and mutes the audio for the clip at the same time.
I have a short cut set for the Enable function (Shift + Command + E) so it is easy to toggle on or off clip.
