random audio layers are muted (without mute button activated) since last 04/2018 update!

I updated Adobe Premiere Pro CC yesterday (April 2018) and started a new project with 3 audio layers. The first and third layers play back the audio normally. The second layer is muted with mute button being disabled. When you click on Solo button it works but then you have to click on all Solo buttons of course. How can I solve this?

I MAY HAVE THE SOLUTION:

I'm going to start by saying - I've never actually found a solution to anything before - however - I have a ten track clip - and am using a recording made on a 10 track field recorder that out put a poly wav for me. When I came to solo tracks there was nothing on several of them and some on others - couldn't fathom it. Checked this thread and despair filled me - as tech problems so often do. AND THEN. I noticed in the mixer, beneath the pan tool a button just to the right with a logo that's a square connected to three little squares 'SET TRACK OUTPUT CHANNEL ASSIGNMENTS' it says if I hover over it (which I have had to do several times with a name as long as that). I clicked that and then checked all the boxes 1-2 , 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8 and then all my mic's cam on - I can solo them and whatever - they are there.

Hope this is the answer everyone.

DEB- export sound to adobe audition and it will all be there. Rework sound and then export and put it back into time line. Make a duplicate of your sequence first to be safe. It’s frustrating. Adobe needs to get there **** together but this should be a work around.

This is hours of work wasted!!!! We need to be able to trust Premier Pro and AUDIO is one of the MOST important parts of a good video. This makes me want to look for another video software. Please fix this. I have the premier version of CC only because of Premier Pro.

Experienced same kind of seemingly random sound on/muted errors - good after restart.

All audio in my project was fine yesterday, today I open it to continue working on it, and all audio tracks are muted somehow. I open previously saved backups and the auto saves, and every single one of them are without audio. All other projects are fine.

NO SOLUTION: after posting the "solution" comment below (which cant be edited?) I started a new project, one track has no audio. I tried the steps I had previously mentioned and they didnt work so it must have a coincidence before.

SOLUTION: same problem except i just stumbled on this... In the timeline under the actual time the first icon is "insert and overwrite sequences...." check this on or off then make sure you have both a V1 and A1 in the column directly underneath that icon. A1 was missing from mine, i just clicked the empty space left of the lock icon in the A1 layer. Perhaps there is a hotkey we are hitting to toggle this off without knowing?

The only way to keep working is to edit audio in audition and bring it back in. It's not ideal, especially bc you can't hear some tracks in premiere, but there are there and you can see and hear them in Audition.
