Guys

I can not make a cut anywhere I want, the razor tool is like snapping 1 second.

Is there any change to use razor precisly ? In my Premier Pro there is no way to cut the JPG or even the MATTE COLOR wherever I want. Just second by second.

Let me know, thanks !

See if Snap Playhead in Timelline when Snap is enabled is off.

Video, stills etc can only be cut by the frame.

Audio can be adjusted 1/48000 of a second when set to Audio Time Units.

Are zoomed in on the timeline so far that you see this little blue line coming of the playhead?

Screen Shot 2020-07-10 at 11.48.39 AM.pngexpand image

That blue line is showing you the duration of the frame, you cannot edit video at the subframe level. The frame is the smallest unit of video, you can only edit between whole frames.

If you change the time line to show Audio Time Units:

you can edit the audio only at subframe increments, but even with that setting, any video will still be edited at the whole frame level.

Ned,

Trying to puzzle out how to help.

First, understand the playhead (technically called the CTI for "current time indicator" is always at the beginning of the next frame. This is behavior that puzzles everyone at first.

Next, the easiest way to get to a specific frame is to use the forward/back arrows, which will move the CTI one frame at a time.

Again, you can only cut on frame edges. If you've got 29.97 sequence, that means you can only cut at the frame edges, not somewhere in-between.

And remember the 'timer' in the header block for the timeline panel shows hours:minutes:seconds:frames.

So 00:00:04:21 means four seconds and 21 frames. That is also confusing at first. Maybe this can help ...
