Remove / change default presets bin folder

New Here ,

Hey all!

So I just installed a preset that another Editor on my team shared with me and it created this folder:

And it now sits at the top above my other folders, including my previous "Presets" bin which was the default and used to sit at the top:

Anyway, I've since removed the presets from within that folder, but now I cannot delete the folder itself or rename it. Has anyone faced this issue before and know how to fix? Adobe haven't been much help other than suggesting I reset my preferences, which they inform me will remove all custom presets, which ain't happening.

Unless I'm being blind, I wish it were that easy. It appears Adobe wraps all presets into one file and that's it. I've searched high and low through the Adobe folders in:

-My Documents

-Program Files

-App Data

But nothing 😞

This is what the file I mentioned looks like:

Export all custom presets from the effects palet

Close Premiere

Delete the Effect Preset and Custom items.prfpset

reboot program

import all exported presets.

Resetting preferences does not delete custom presets.

Oh nice idea!! It's gonna take a while to ctrl+left click all the custom presets and their folders that I've got set up, but this honestly might be the way to go! Thank you!

Unfortunately most of the folders in that "settings" area are mostly blank, apart from the first 3, but there's nothing related to my personal preset folders in here:

Thanks for the suggestion though! I feel like it's gotta be hiding somewhere around here...

That version number in my example - 14 - will differ depending on which version you have installed. So go back and make sure you're in the right directory for the version you're on.

Sorry, not sure who you're replying to @Ann Bens...could you maybe comment separately to this one? Was wondering if you knew how to select all / multi select presets in the effects bin? Rather than having to click them individually etc

Yes replying to you.

There is no settings folder as Jeff pointed out (that is for v14 we are on 22 now)

Read my post again with the screenshot.

It shows you the path and prfpset you are looking for.

You cannot delete one by one. There are all in the .prfpset
