Rename clips in sequence

Is it possible to rename clips that are already part of a sequence? Can't find any info on this in the user guide.

Try right clicking and choose Rename.

Yeah, I tried that first but rename doesn't appear as an option.

If you single click it, can you highlight and change the text?

Unfortunately no, could it be that clips can only be renamed before going into the timeline?

In that case, rename a copy and import it.  Then use "replace with clip."

You used to be able to rename one clip discretely, but if you rename a clip, all the source footage is renamed, as well.

You can rename clips in the timeline> If you turn off Show source clip and label name it wont change in the Project Panel.
