Hi there,
I'm sure this is new unless I've totally missed this. When creating a new sequence with a clip - right click > new sequnece with clip, you shouldn't need to render right? I keep seeing the yellow render bar under the timecode on the timeline!! I'm sure this wasn't the case before or m i doing something wrong?
Clip and sequence are identitcal, I know you have to when they don't match. Prores 422HQ
Thanks in advance

You don't have to worry about having the yellow line, that means you have compatible GPU acceleration and everything will be relatively smooth, but not necessarily exactly like the final video, for that we have the green line. You should worry when the red line appears, it means that everything will be slow because there are not many with GPU acceleration.

i see thank you. My one concern is when I playback on a grade/broadcast monitor when it's yellow the text look jaggedy and interlaced files look bad. However once renedered they look fine. I'm sure i've never had to do this before when both sequence and asset were the same - right click > new seqeunce from clip
Means I need to render all my clips each time I need to QC on the broadcast monitor

If you want everything to appear with the green line, you must press the Enter key to Preview. The problem with this is that every time you need to see your edit with the green line you will have to press Enter and wait for the preview to render. That is why there is GPU acceleration (yellow line) so that you can work smoothly without having to do the green line all the time.

Thanks Byron.
I think i may have worked it out, you need to go to sequence settings and change the video preview codec to 422HQ. Now i need to work out how this can be done manually rather than going into sequence settings all the time. If you have any ideas please let me know.
Cheers
