Replace audio file on timeline but retain cuts

Hi all!

I have an interview I'm cutting with 8 audio tracks (7 guests and 1 host). When labeling/placing the footage in the initial sync sequence, I either mislabeled or misplaced one of the tracks and ended up with a duplicate track for one of the guests. The cut itself is complete and I've only just discovered this problem while starting the sound mix.

Is there any way to relink this duplicate track to the appropriate audio file, and have the track update in the timeline? Thus retaining all of the (many) cuts to the track? The issue persists for an entire segment of about 10 minutes so clipping out each part of the track and manually inserting is going to be super time consuming.

      Right click on the file in the timeline and click 'Reveal in Project', then right click on the file that becomes revealed and click 'Replace Footage' this will then prompt you to select a new file, select the correct file in the browser, this should then replace the old file in all timelines with the right audio clip.

      Alternatively, you could import the new file, open it in the source, highlight all the edits on that track and then right click and 'replace with' - 'clip from source monitor'

      Either of these solutions should work! Let me know if you have any troubles!

      I have another suggestion. I recently had to try to replace the audio for an already cut video that used the onboard microphone instead of the secondary recorder with the lav mic. It had already all been cut up, so Plural Eyes or Sync wasn't going to work. What I did was make a new sequence with the original interview file, then replace the audio with the new audio track on the whole thing. Then save that as 'interview - audio replaced'. Then make offline the interview in the sequence, then relink to the new export - just make sure it is the same timing as the original so it syncs up properly. Then you have the new audio while retaining all of the cuts. Not sure if this is better or worse, but it helps if you don't want to replace the audio individually on each clip in an already edited timeline.
