RocketStock Lowerthirds crashing Premiere 12.0.0

New Here ,
Aug 06, 2018 Aug 06, 2018

I recently tried to import these free lowerthirds motion graphics templates. I imported one entitled “1_RS_Swiss_mogrt,” though not sure how successful it was. I now click on “Lowerthirds” in the essential graphics window and Premiere instantly crashes/shuts down. How can I at least uninstall the template in question, and what can be done to make these work properly?

YES! Found it. Deleted the problematic mogrt file, and things are back to normal. THANKS! My colleague has had success using the template in AE, so I'll go that route for now.

I don't have the RocketStock mogrts but I'm wondering if they may have been created in a newer version?   Is it a good time to update Premiere Pro or do you have access to a computer with the latest version of Premiere Pro?

Feel free to send me a PM if you need more help.

Wes

Unfortunately, I can't upgrade. I'm at the mercy of my company's IT department to provide updates. I'd at least like to find a way to remove the template file. Is there a folder where I might find where they're stored?

The one's I've loaded, including the one you mentioned seem to be working fine for me. PP 12.1.2

BTW: I know it's not 'approved' but I simply copied it to the folder:

C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Motion Graphics Templates

- and it loads right up.

Of course in the Graphics 'browse' screen, all appear in one giant list and no folder names seem to exist. I know it's being discussed, but that does seem to be a real rookie error?

My folder structure does not match yours, so I don't know where to find that.

Are you on a Mac? I'm on PC.

What PP version are you running? I'm on 12.1.2 (available from the Help/About screen)

if the mogrts were created on a later update they won't work !

What you can do is if you can send me the mogrt file, I export it from

a previous version of after effects and send back the mogrt file to you,

or you can simply contact Rocketstock and ask them to do this for you.

We are here to help

I appreciate the offer. I may take you up on that. I need to fix the crashing problem. RocketStock told me to contact Adobe and didn't seem to want to help.

Main issues for Mogrt crashes on Premiere Pro :

01. Different Versions (incompatible versions where mogrts are created on newer updates)

02. The latest update for Expression Universalizer was not run on the mogrt from after effects before exporting, that will not work properly with pcs having a different language form the one used by the creator's pc.

03. Mogrt files might be damaged but this is not the case with mogrts by Rocketstock im sure of this (try downloading again)

I need to fix the crashing part first. As soon as I click on LowerThirds in Essential Graphics, Premiere shuts down.

Here is a thread about how to find the templates folder on disk. Note that the location is different in 12.0 and 12.1.Essential Graphics Local Folder Destination

The crash is fixed in 12.0.1, but the template is question likely requires 12.1 to be usable.

Thanks. None of those paths match my system. I found the Essential Grpahics folder in AE, but don't see where imported RocketStock template might be.

The folder will be:

/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Essential Graphics/

Note that Library is a hidden folder by default on Mac, so you will need to show hidden folders to find it in the Finder. There are instructions online for how to show hidden folders.

I see

Users/<username>/

then no Library folder after that. Once I click my username I see a list of the following folders

Adobe

Applications

Creative Cloud Files

Desktop

Documents

Movies

Music

Pictures

Public

Library is a hidden folder. You need to show hidden folders to see it in the Finder.

Solved! I re-exported the SWISS Mogrt from my version of AfterEffect, overwriting the existing file. I went to Premiere and keeping all the projects closed, I went to the top navbar... Clicked on Graphics, then Install New Model... bla bla bla and overwritten the SWISS... Then before doing anything else, I installed the full package of Roboto font which are included into the Mogrt..

Everything works perfectly!
