Hello experts,

I have inadvertently changed my whole project from its capture settings of 16x9 to a letterbox format (Ithink 2.35:1) and when I export it has the two black borders on the left and right sides. I am lost off as to what to do. It has eluded me for two days and with reading/listening to many tutorials. An experienced avid editor tells me it sounds like something to do with sequence or timeline. I am a novice user and have no idea where to look for these to change them. If anyone has an idea to help it will be much appreciated.

Go to Sequence/Settings, and check your frame-size settings. There's an aspect-ration shown for them also right next to that.

Another solution is to create a new sequence from your original footage and copy and paste the entire edit that went wrong onto that sequence. Presto. No more black bars
