As the title says.
Nothing is searchable.
Hey Yeager117,
Sorry for the poor experience. I have moved this thread to the Discussions sections for troubleshooting purposes. Since you only see this issue with a specific project, please try these steps and let us know if they help.
1. Launch Premiere Pro (do not open any projects), go to Window > Workspaces > uncheck "Import Workspaces from Projects.
2. Create a new project, go to Window > Workspaces, and choose one of the default Workspaces (other than the one you're currently using in
...Premiere 24 and higher. If you lost search option. There is a really simple and working solution.
In premiere/ Windows/ Workspaces/ Uncheck Import Workspace from project.
Close Premiere
Go to File manager / Rename your existing premiere project
Run Premiere / open renamed project.
Search is working again.

Someone needs (to) respond or I'll begin my transition to AVID.
Mod note: Please do not use profanity on Adobe forums. It is against our community guidelines.

Sorry you didn't get a response.
Which search bar are you referring to? A screenshot might help.
What version of PR?

You better talk to Adobe, we're for the most part here, just other users like yourself. Use the chat on your Creative Cloud page or call support and ask for the 'video queue'

In my project bin, I search for key files but now nothing populates the search like it used to.

It's working as expected for me. I would try:
Workspaces - "Reset to Saved Layout"
And if that doesn't work, Reset Preferences:

Just adding to this - if you're working in Productions, you can close the Project and rename it in the Productions panel.

I fixed this by creating a new project and then importing the project the search stopped working in.
I'm startring to realize that everytime Premiere has a new update, I should stop opening old projects and instead import them into a new project created with lastest version of Premiere.

Peter makes a good point. Also, it saves some possible anguish to delete the cache before using the new update. Or anytime some wonky behavior starts happening. (Hold down Shift as you start PP from it's normal icon, and respond to the dialog.)

What a strange workaround though...Why does this keep happening? I've had to reset my project multiple times today to keep the searchbar working...

Hey there,
Inspired by one of the answers below, I simply renamed my project and it worked for me! Since 4.6k people looked for this thread, I supposed I'd share this simple trick.

Same here, cleaned my cache and worked. Recently got to my current company and there were cache files from years ago. Clear your cache and it is likely to work properly.
