I tried the following troubleshooting steps with no luck.

1. deleting media cache and restarting

2. renaming the project file and restarting

3. Premiere Pro> Windows > workspaces > check "Import workspaces from projects"

then UNchecking it. Closing out, renaming the project file and restarting premiere with the renamed project file.

I'm running a Mac Pro m2 Max - Soonoma 14.6.1

Premiere Pro 24.5.0

Thanks

Figured it out. Turns out the seach field has a bug and doesn't treat "0" for the numeric digit that it is. It's definately a bug of sorts. So if you have files numbered, 00_name, 01_name, 02_name, 11_name, 12_name etc, then a search for just "01" will bring up...all 3 of these files, because it's only acknowledging the 1 in the search.
