I'm unable to assign a shortcut to 'select timeline'; it's missing from the list of commands when I open the Keyboard Shortcuts window. Has it been removed? This was one of the most useful shortcuts! Now to select the timeline I either have to click with the mouse or press the 'Select Next Panel' shortcut repeatedly until I get there.
Am I missing something?

How to assign a custom keyboard shortcut to the timeline in Premiere Pro CC2017:
1. Close all open timelines.
2. Go to Edit > Keyboard Customization
3. Change the shortcut to the one you want.
4. Click OK.
5. Done.
If one or more timeline/s is open it´s impossible to set a keyboard shortcut to either Timeline, Source Monitor and Program Monitor. Closing all timelines solves this until Adobe fix this issue, if they do.

What PPro version are we talking about here?
What was your previous shortcut?

Sorry, forgot to mention: it is Premiere Pro CC 2017
My previous shortcut was 0 on the numpad.
As a matter of fact, I lost some of my shortcuts after the update but have been able to re-create them - just not this one. Can't find it!

Yeah, missing here as well. Used to be Shift+3 to go to the Timeline Panel.

Thanks for the tips but Shift+3 or Alt+Shift+3 don't work for me.
I changed the default shortcut long ago and didn't experience any problems but after the update my shortcut (numpad 0) stopped working - while the default one doesn't work either. Then I realized I wasn't able to re-create my shortcut because this command is simply missing from the list!

Have you tried using the default shortcuts, actually switching the Keyboard Layout Preset to Adobe Premiere Pro Default?

I tried all of the above, even switching to the Premiere Pro default layout. The keyboard shortcut for it isn't even in the list. Like Bezedor, I had also changed mine a long time ago.

Still working here. (Shift+3)

I also rely on my keyboard shortcut to select the timeline and now it is gone and can't be replicated. Ridiculous. I sent a feature request. I hope others do as well.

It actually was an option up until this latest release - and I used it constantly.
The problem is that the particular shortcut is no longer available at all within the Keyboard Customization panel.

I see them here, when i close all timelines. (See the attached image)
If you cant see them i would recommend you to uninstall Pr CC2017 and re-install it to get all bits in place.

You are absolutely right - It was killing me that I couldn't get that working. Thanks so much!

It's a bug! It worked for me. The shortcut for "Timeline" has appeared when i closed all the timelines.
Thanks!

Since the 2017 update, selecting a specific panel is definitely no longer an option. This presents a huge problem for me because I regularly use a ton of custom macro commands. Many of these require a particular timeline panel to be selected for certain steps. I could just tell it to Select Next Panel (Shift-Control-.) but I's need to do it a certain of times to simulate what I use to do with a single command. Plus it would then need to be reprogramed every time a move my panels around. It seems small, but for many of us it is really inconvenient to lose something like this. I hope it's just an oversight and that it will be fixed soon. Definitely fill out the Feature Request/Bug Report Forms

There is not option to select Keyboard Customizations under Edit on a Mac. Has anyone been able to assign the timeline to a shortcut on a Mac on CC 2017?

Works like Averdahl says, even with a Mac. Close all timelines, go to keyboard editor, look for ( = enter as search term) "timeline"/ "project" etc., under "window" enter the shortcut to the right.
